My love for astrology began when I was fourteen, when my aunt, a world traveler with a deep spiritual curiosity, handed me my first astrology book. She introduced me to metaphysics, taught me how to meditate, and filled my hands with books on the world’s major religions. “They all say the same thing, just in different ways,” she would remind me.
At home, my mother’s work as a psychologist meant our shelves were lined with Freud, Jung, and volumes on the human psyche. I devoured them throughout my teenage years (in Persian translation). Later, I studied English Literature at ATU and eventually left Iran to continue my studies abroad, carrying with me a lifelong fascination with symbolism, meaning, and the inner life.
Why Psychological & Evolutionary Astrology?
By the time I began my Ph.D. dissertation at EGS, I had already spent more than a decade studying psychology, dream analysis, and the symbolic language of the unconscious. My research explored the intersections of film, philosophy, geometry, and meaning-making, and it was during this period that I discovered the work of Dr. Liz Greene. Her writing opened the door to psychological astrology, a field that seamlessly united my love of depth psychology with my passion for symbolic systems.
I later enrolled in the program she initiated at the Centre for Psychological Astrology (CPA) in London. After two years of intensive study, I received my certificate in psychological astrology and began working with a small circle of clients. This early practice allowed me to observe how the natal chart expresses itself in real lives, in patterns, choices, relationships, and the quiet turning points that shape a person’s path.
My studies continued into other traditions, including Vedic (Indian) astrology, and I spent two additional years in private astrological and spiritual mentorship with Vic DiCara (Vraja Kishor).
About five years after my first encounter with psychological astrology, I came across evolutionary astrology, an “accident” only in appearance. Pluto was transiting opposite my natal Moon at the time, so perhaps it was less coincidence and more cosmic choreography. I immersed myself in these teachings and soon realized how beautifully evolutionary astrology complements the psychological approach.
Today, my work synthesizes both:
- Psychological astrology for understanding the inner landscape, patterns, and emotional development
- Evolutionary astrology for exploring the soul’s deeper intentions, growth edges, and karmic themes
Among the teachers who have shaped my path, I am especially indebted to Jeffrey Wolf Green (Evolutionary Astrology), Mark Jones (Psychosynthesis), and Dr. Glenn Perry (AstroPsychology). Their teachings have profoundly enriched my understanding of the cosmos and our place within it.
My Work Today
I now spend most of my time writing, teaching customized astrology classes, and offering consultations to clients around the world. My work blends scholarship, intuition, symbolism, philosophy, and poetry. I intend to help people understand themselves more deeply and live with greater clarity and compassion.
And as an eternal student of astrology, I learn something new almost every day from the sweet souls whose paths cross mine, exactly as planned by the cosmic wisdom.
